Or make changes to it?

Yes, absolutely! You just need a USB cable and the instructions. It’s super easy!

And if you feel adventurous (or want to contribute), firmware updates and GPLv3 source can be found at https://github.com/BlueSCSI/BlueSCSI-v2/.

Does BlueSCSI work on my machine?

BlueSCSI was successfully tested on many machines, and the list keeps growing every day. Chances are that someone will be able to help you.

Can I track my parcel?

Depending on where you live, I try to offer traceable shipment. Check the shipping options offered to you at checkout.

I have selected the Mondial Relay pick-up location but couldn’t provide a pick-up location!

I’ll get in touch with you once your order is ready, or you’ll receive a message from Mondial Relay (check your e-mail!) asking you to select one. I won’t forget about you.

How do I know my order has shipped?

If you’ve chosen delivery without tracking, you’ll receive an e-mail saying your order is complete (and that I’ve finished processing it). This means that your order was packed, stamped, and has been mailed.

For deliveries with tracking, you’ll get an additional e-mail with the details you need to track your parcel.

How long does it take, and what do I get?

I ship generally within a week of your order, sometimes less. In most cases, it takes between 5 and 10 business days to arrive. The box contains your order and instructions.

What’s your return policy?

Every fully assembled BlueSCSI is tested on actual hardware (a Macintosh IIci) before shipment. It must be able to boot the machine fully and perform sustained read and write tests. In the unlikely event your fully assembled BlueSCSI is not functional upon arrival, you have a 14 days window to return it and I’ll refund you.

I do not offer returns on the kits. But if you need help or pointers, get in touch.

Contact

Why do you need my phone number? And can I trust you with my e-mail?

Your phone number is required by some delivery options with package tracking. If you’re not comfortable giving it away or if you’re using a simple delivery option without tracking, just provide a fake one.

Your e-mail address is safe with me (I have no affiliation with any advertising company), and you’re more than welcome to use an address generated for the purpose of your order. But please make sure you keep an eye on your mailbox because that’s where you’ll receive the order status updates.

In short: just make sure I have at least one way of getting in touch with you 🙂

How can I get in touch with you?

If you have any question or request, get in touch on Mastodon, on BlueSky or by e-mail: bluescsi at onegeekarmy.eu (all together). You can sometimes find me on the Discord server for BlueSCSI.

Miscellaneous

The model I want is backordered! What does that mean?

There has been an unexpected surge of orders for that model, and the supply has temporarily run dry (this happens a lot when there are new videos posted on YouTube featuring BlueSCSI) . This will delay your order a little more, but generally never more than a week or two.

I’ve seen people sell BlueSCSI online but they’re not listed on the official sellers page. Can I trust them?

Maybe.

However, BlueSCSI is an open source and open hardware community project. By selling BlueSCSI without permission, these resellers go against the terms of the license. They choose to profit from the work and the active collaboration of the community, without contributing themselves.

The official sellers are all active members of the community and, by supporting them, you support the project as a whole.

What is the “Platinum” color?

It’s a light grey color that closely matches the tint of the “Snow White” design language used in the early Macintoshes and the late Apple II.

What’s this “Disk Jockey” thing I’ve heard about?

Disk Jockey is an application for macOS and Windows that I’m writing in my spare time to help you create blank disk images for your BlueSCSI (or any other device or emulator that works with disk images).
