Fully Assembled Version<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fully assembled version comes fully tested and ready to use. Just provide an SD card.<\/p>\n

Kit Version<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the kit version, the SMD parts come already soldered. All you have left to solder are the header pins, the Berg and the SCSI connector. These are through-hole parts, and it’s fairly easy to do if you have some soldering practice.<\/p>\n

You may also exclude the Raspberry Pi Pico completely, in which case you’ll have to supply your own, as well as headers for it.<\/p>\n

Pico Type<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can choose the traditional Raspberry Pi Pico or the Raspberry Pi Pico 2W (wireless).<\/p>\n

The Pico 2W provides improved performance in later computers (such as those with a SCSI-2 bus). In older machines however, performance will not be improved because the SCSI bus of the computer itself acts as a bottleneck and cannot process data quickly enough.<\/p>\n

You will need a Pico 2W to take advantage of the DaynaPORT Wifi feature: https:\/\/tinkerdifferent.com\/threads\/bluescsi-v2-daynaport-wifi-beta.2857\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Note<\/em>: the Desktop version of BlueSCSI is typically used internally, inside a casing that shields its contents from the outside world, including radio signals. This means that the Pico 2W might have a hard time communicating over Wi-Fi over medium to long distances.<\/p>\n

The Pico will be flashed with the latest version of the firmware at the time of ordering.<\/p>\n
